ABSTRACT

A management information system is a series of processes and actions involved in capturing raw data, processing the data into usable information and disseminating the information to users in the needed form. A management information system is one of the most crucial elements of an organization. Having a good information system is essential to perform efficiently. In a competitive environment, the organization with better information system has a distinct advantage. It’s upon this background that, this study of building a management information system for Regional Parcel Delivery Company is based. The idea of implementing a management information system for Regional Parcel Delivery Company Pharmacies originated from an exploration of the current system of data management in the company. The current paper based system is associated with problems like loss of data due to poor storage, obtaining inaccurate information due to poor integrity, duplication of files etc. The project undertaken is expected to achieve an efficient and sustainable data and file handling system within the company management. That will in turn benefit the management, personnel, customer and logistics department.
